Google is one of the most popular search engine. It’s well known for its web browser, email service and various online tools which we use in our day to day life.

Do you know ? Google makes most of the money through its advertisement networks :). Yes, you heard it right :).

Generally, there are various sources of income for google.But, i’m going to mention the most important sources of google.

What Are the Sources Of Income For Google?

• AdWords and Search Advertising.
• AdSense Network.
• Other Revenue.

AdWords and Search Advertising

You know whenever you search anything on google then many times you see websites with AD tag on them. Yes, Advertisers pay Google each time a visitor clicks on an advertisement. A click may be worth anywhere from a few cents to over $50 for highly competitive search terms, including insurance, loans, and other financial services.

According to Investopedia Report, The bulk of Google’s $110.8 billion revenue in 2017 came from its proprietary advertising service, Google AdWords. 

Google Adsense

Every YouTuber & Blogger makes money through google adsense.But, then how google makes money through it ? Actually, google takes its part from it. When a visitor clicks on a display advertisement on a member website, a portion of the revenue is paid to the site owner while Google keeps part of the fee. For displaying ads with AdSense for content, publishers receive 68% of the revenue recognized by Google in connection with the service. For AdSense for search, publishers receive 51% of the revenue recognized by Google.

According to Investopedia Report, A staggering $24.1 billion of Google’s $27.77 billion revenue for Q3 2018 was from advertising – roughly a 22% increase from $19.8 billion in Q3 2017.

Other Revenue

Rest of the revenue & income comes from non-advertising related projects. These projects are related to softwares, apps, online media, cloud computing, play store, a solar power plant and many more.
